Η απάντηση της Mojca Kleva σχετικά με την ACTA

Dear fellow European,
having received a number of concerns, calls for rejection and outspoken arguments from citizens all over Europe to vote against Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement between the EU and its Member States, Australia, Canada, Japan, the Repulic of Korea, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland and the USA (ACTA), let me reassure you that in the upcoming vote in the European parliament, this dossier will not receive my support.

As a representative of European citizens, I am aware that counterfeiting is a real problem in Europe and we need to address it. ACTA points at the right problems but gives the wrong answers. It would not be effective and it would endanger fundamental rights. Moreover, what ACTA delivers in terms of important intellectual property rights is diminished by potential threats to civil liberties and internet freedom.
In the S&D group in the European Parliament we are ready to start working with all the political groups on better ways to protect copyright and the creativity of EU companies and manufacturers without endangering fundamental rights. Now we first need to close the unfortunate ACTA chapter and then press the Commission to find other ways to defend European intellectual property in the global marketplace.
Sincerely,
Mojca Kleva
Slovenian Member of the European Parliament
